Open Design Challenge
The Open Design Challenge gives teams the freedom they need to transform their unique ideas into functioning prototypes. The task of this event is to create any product that will be useful in a future city. Designs could center around technology, sustainability, health, entertainment, or many other fields- be creative! A detailed rubric for the event’s scoring can be found on our “Attendees” page.
Now in its second year, the National Instruments Case Competition gives teams the opportunity to tackle a real-world problem, build a prototype, and present their solution to a panel of judges for scoring. Last year, National Instruments challenged teams to design and build a robot capable of climbing a flight of stairs. This year’s competition will focus on a “future city” theme and ask teams to solve a specific problem through their design. National Instruments will provide mentors to assist teams in addition to sponsoring the event.
